Border Force (UKBF), Customs & Special Branch (Kent Police)
As a fully licensed port of entry, Lydd Airport has direct contact with Border Force, Customs and Special Branch throughout our operational hours (0830 – 1900 Local).
All pilots and operators are responsible and are required to fill out a General Aviation Report (GAR) prior to arrival for themselves and all passengers on board the aircraft for flights originating from either the EU or the Common Travel Area.
GENERAL AVIATION REPORT (GAR) FORM
The notification periods are:
• From/To EU – minimum four hour’s notice.
• From/To CTA (between the UK, the Republic of Ireland, Guernsey, Jersey and the Isle of Man) – minimum 12 hour’s notice.
It is imperative that details submitted on the GAR form match exactly the passport or ID card that passengers or crew will be carrying with them to avoid unnecessary delays upon arrival at Lydd.
